Ex-Footballer Emir Spahić Builds Major Residential Complex in Mostar

Emir Spahić, former captain of the Bosnian national football team and current director, is spearheading the development of a significant new construction project in Mostar. Named Garden SUN, the complex is rising on the grounds of the former Tobacco Factory Mostar, a site that has been derelict for years.

Spahić shared updates on his Facebook page, highlighting the project's progress. Garden SUN will comprise four modern buildings, offering a total of 356 apartments and 12 commercial spaces. The development also includes 463 parking spots, aiming to integrate peace, functionality, and city living within its location.

The complex is being built on a nearly 20,000-square-meter plot. The demolition of the old factory ruins was completed to make way for this investment, which is noted as one of the largest in Mostar. The Tobacco Factory Mostar ceased operations in 2007, having employed over a hundred workers before its closure and more than 400 before the war.

The land is jointly owned by Alarm Gross from Mostar and Herc-invest from Trebinje. Emir Spahić and Mirsad Ćatić own Alarm Gross, while Herc-invest belongs to prominent Herzegovinian businessman Bratislav Pidžula. Garden SUN is poised to become one of Mostar's most substantial new residential and commercial hubs.
