Ex-Liverpool Player Jordon Ibe Sentenced for Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend

Former Liverpool and Bournemouth player Jordon Ibe received a 12-month community order after pleading guilty to assaulting his former girlfriend in south London.

Croydon Magistrates’ Court heard that Ibe attacked Amie Mayson outside her home in Lambeth in December and pulled a braid from her head during an argument, leaving a bald patch. He had denied a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in March before changing his plea to guilty.

Ibe represented himself in court and said he had made “a serious mistake.” He told the court, “I understand it is wrong. I am genuinely remorseful.”

Magistrate Brij Kalia ordered Ibe to complete 80 hours of unpaid work and 27 days of rehabilitation activity. He must also pay £764, including a £114 surcharge and £650 in court costs.

Ibe began his professional career at Wycombe Wanderers before joining Liverpool. He later played for Bournemouth and represented England at under-21 level.
