Ex-Nigeria squash No.1 Olubo completes transcontinental adventure

Moses Olubo, a former Nigerian squash number one, is set to complete an extraordinary transcontinental adventure on his Can-Am Spyder motorcycle. His epic journey began in the United States and spanned across Canada, Iceland, Scandinavia, and Western Europe. From there, he navigated the Sahara Desert and the difficult Fouta Jallon Highlands en route to Nigeria.

Olubo is anticipated to arrive in Nigeria on Wednesday and receive a hero's welcome from friends, sports enthusiasts, and supporters at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. A meet-and-greet event has been scheduled for 2 PM to celebrate his remarkable feat. Organizers have dubbed him a "3-Continent Adventurer," emphasizing the immense scale of his journey and the sheer determination required for such a demanding expedition.

The final leg of his trip encountered some unpredictability due to challenges with registering his motorcycle under the ECOWAS system while riding through Ghana. As of Tuesday, Olubo was reportedly working to finalize his exit from Ghana, with the remaining stretch to Lagos expected to be relatively smooth. The adventure has generated significant excitement, with many calling for a memorable reception from Nigerians, especially within the sporting community, to honor the former squash star's achievement.
