Ex-Remo Stars captain joins India’s SC Delhi

Sporting Club Delhi has secured the services of Junior Nduka, a former captain of Nigerian club Remo Stars, on a one-year contract with a potential one-year extension. The 23-year-old defender joins the Indian Super League side from Iraqi club Al-Najaf FC, becoming their prominent foreign player ahead of the 2026/27 season, which commences on October 10.

Nduka brings a wealth of experience from his time at Remo Stars, where he was appointed captain as a teenager. He guided the club to promotion into the Nigeria Premier Football League in September 2021 and was instrumental in their league victory in 2025. Following this success, he transferred to Iraq.

His career in Iraq began with Erbil SC in the Iraq Stars League, reportedly on a five-year contract. He later moved to Al-Najaf FC in January of the current year, where he participated in 26 matches during the season. Nduka has also represented Nigeria at the international level, earning a call-up to the senior squad in May 2025 for friendlies and captaining the U23 team at the African Nations Championship in August 2025, where he played in three matches.

Nigerian international Nduka Junior, who was heavily linked to Moroccan club Raja Club Athletic earlier in the summer window, has agreed to join ISL side SC Delhi for the upcoming ISL season.
