Ex-Student Donates Ultra-Modern Research Centre, Digital Library to PAAU

Dr. Rabiu Olowo, an alumnus of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU) and Executive Secretary of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, has gifted his alma mater an ultra-modern Research Centre of Excellence and Digital Library. The multi-million Naira facility is designed to foster research and learning, adhering to international best practices.

The centre features a digital library, which will be accessed by accounting students in universities nationwide. The digital library will partner with professional bodies nationally and internationally to provide digital accounting textbooks and free resources.

The center boasts a digital library that will offer accounting students across Nigerian universities access to digital textbooks and free resources through partnerships with professional bodies. Lecturers will also benefit from access to the latest publications to enhance their research and teaching. The facility is equipped with 24/7 power supply, high-speed internet, and a borehole.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, Dr. Mohammed Umar, representing Dr. Olowo, described the center as a "revolution in facilitating access to knowledge and research skill." He added that the center will actively mobilize research funding and serve as a leading driver of innovation within the university and nationally.

PAAU Vice Chancellor, Professor Salisu Usman, commended Dr. Olowo's generosity and urged other alumni to follow his example. He highlighted Dr. Olowo's contribution as a testament to the positive impact alumni can have on their alma mater, irrespective of regional or religious affiliations.

While some members of the Alumni Association are fighting themselves up and down, they are struggling to take money that would be contributed to the university.
