Ex-Taiwan Fuji Xerox Exec Sued Again for Trade Secret Leak in Defense Statement

Taiwan Fuji Xerox's former executive, Wu Jing-ming, faces renewed legal scrutiny for allegedly leaking trade secrets during his defense against embezzlement charges. Wu, who held positions including information management director and head of the business department from 1986 to 2018, is accused of using fraudulent transactions to cause the company losses exceeding NT$280 million, while personally profiting over NT$260 million. He was previously indicted for breach of trust and violations of the Securities Transaction Act.

The latest charges stem from the discovery of confidential company information within Wu's defense statement during court proceedings. Prosecutors have determined that Wu illegally reproduced Taiwan Fuji Xerox's trade secrets before his departure in February 2018. This act constitutes a violation of the Trade Secrets Act for exceeding authorized scope in reproducing trade secrets.
