Ex-Ukrainian Defense Minister Fedorow to advise Italy on military tech

Mychajlo Fedorov, the former Ukrainian Minister of Defense, is set to take on a new role as an advisor for military innovation within the Italian Ministry of Defense. The ministry in Rome announced on Friday evening that the 35-year-old would be taking on this advisory capacity.

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto extended the offer to Fedorov following his dismissal from his ministerial post in Ukraine back in July. Fedorov had been a prominent figure in Ukraine's government, particularly in areas of digital transformation and defense.

On the social media platform X, Fedorov confirmed his new role, expressing his desire to assist Italy in the implementation of modern warfare technologies and the overall strengthening of its defense sector. His appointment comes after his departure from the Ukrainian government, which was reportedly influenced by internal conflicts regarding reforms in procurement and mobilization, as well as political rivalries.

Fedorov's move to an advisory position in Italy underscores continued international collaboration in defense strategies and technological advancements, particularly relevant in the current global security landscape.
