Expand or relocate? Zhongli Vocational High School's limited campus lacks sports field, city government begins assessment

Zhongli Vocational High School in Taoyuan, established over 70 years ago, is grappling with severe space constraints. The school's campus spans a mere 1.21 hectares, making it significantly smaller than even local elementary schools, and critically lacks a proper sports field and running track.

This limited area severely restricts the teaching and extracurricular activities for both students and faculty. The situation has led to widespread frustration, with many lamenting that the school's facilities are inadequate for modern educational needs. The school's location in a prime area of the old Zhongli city center further complicates potential expansion efforts due to surrounding development.

In response to these long-standing issues, the Taoyuan city government has launched an evaluation process. This assessment will explore options for either expanding the current campus or relocating the school to a more suitable site. The goal is to address the critical shortage of space and improve the learning environment for the school's students and staff.
