Expat to be deported for illegal used tire operation in Kuwait

Kuwaiti authorities have shut down an illegal operation refurbishing used tires, leading to the arrest and impending deportation of an expatriate involved.

The operation was carried out in cooperation with the Capital Governorate Criminal Investigation Department and the Shuwaikh Industrial Police Station following surveillance by the Capital Inspection Monitoring Department.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in collaboration with the Capital Governorate Criminal Investigation Department and the Shuwaikh Industrial Police Station, discovered the illicit business following surveillance. Inspectors raided a container in a dirt yard, finding it packed with used tires being cleaned, renewed, and reconditioned to mimic higher-quality products.

Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Commercial Control Department, confirmed the seizure of 290 used tires. Legal procedures are underway against the responsible expatriate, who will be deported from the country. The ministry also coordinated with Kuwait Municipality to dispose of the seized tires at designated landfill sites.
