Explosive attack on Postobón warehouse in Popayán sparks alarm, security operations intensified

An explosive attack on a Postobón distribution warehouse in Popayán, Colombia, has raised security concerns after two devices were detonated on the night of July 25. The incident, which occurred in the Bello Horizonte neighborhood, caused significant material damage to the facility's infrastructure, including broken windows and external parts of the building.

The explosions, which occurred shortly before midnight, generated panic among local residents, though no injuries were reported. Police quickly cordoned off the affected area, and specialized units began investigating the circumstances of the attack. During the inspection, authorities discovered that one of the explosive devices failed to detonate and was later safely deactivated by police.

Adding to the alarm, pamphlets attributed to the National Liberation Army (ELN), specifically its 'Camilo Torres Restrepo' Urban National War Front, were found at the scene. These documents reportedly declared targets such as distribution centers and logistics operations of companies like Postobón and Bavaria S.A. The pamphlets also referenced recent violent actions in various regions.

However, authorities have stressed that the authenticity of these pamphlets is still under verification. There is no official confirmation regarding the perpetrators of the attack or a direct link to the found material. Security operations have been intensified in the city following the incident.
