Explosives found near power substations in Germany

Twelve homemade explosive devices were found near the Baerwald and Graustein power substations in Germany, raising questions about whether they were linked to earlier attacks on the country’s electricity infrastructure.

Bomb disposal experts later neutralized all the devices safely. Nearby power lines were briefly disconnected while the operation took place.

German authorities are investigating whether the incidents are connected to attacks on power substations reported earlier this week. Those attacks may have been intended to interrupt electricity supplies.
