Face à l’importance des potentialités de développement du secteur : l’agroalimentaire en Algérie au cœur du Salon Djazagro

Algeria is positioning itself at the forefront of the African agro-food sector with the ongoing 23rd edition of Djazagro, the international agro-food fair held at the Palais des expositions in Algiers. This significant event, running from April 12 to 15, has brought together close to 700 exhibitors from 28 countries, creating a vibrant platform for showcasing the latest innovations and exploring crucial cooperation opportunities.

The fair is recognized as a pivotal space for exchanging best practices, nurturing collective creativity, and translating innovative concepts into tangible actions. Its primary objective is to drive the sustainable development of Algeria's agro-food industry, a sector that, it is important to note, remains heavily dependent on imported inputs and equipment. This reliance underscores the strong interest from foreign participants, predominantly suppliers, in engaging with the Algerian market.

Beyond the substantial national participation, which includes 150 Algerian companies and producers, this year's Djazagro is marked by a remarkable international presence. Exhibitors from Italy, Turkey, China, and Germany are joined by companies from various Arab nations, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, and Tunisia. The event serves as a prime meeting point for producers, industrialists, and raw material suppliers, offering a wide array of equipment and machinery for agro-food processing, packaging, and conditioning. The discussions and workshops held on the sidelines delve into critical topics such as export strategies, agricultural byproduct valorization, food security, green innovation, and the circular economy, all aimed at bolstering Algeria's role in regional and international agro-food trade.
