Falcon Sells for Record AED 2.1 Million at Abu Dhabi Auction

A rare white falcon has set a world auction record in Abu Dhabi, selling for AED 2.1 million, or USD 571,000.

The Gyr Pure Ultra White falcon achieved the price at the final falcon auction of the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, known as ADIHEX 2026. The bird originated in the United States, and competing bidders drove the sale to the highest value ever recorded for a falcon at auction.

The bird attracted attention for its exceptionally rare white plumage, pure lineage and striking appearance. Those qualities made it the most sought-after falcon in this year’s ADIHEX auctions.

Held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the exhibition is organized by ADNEC Group in strategic partnership with the Emirates Falconers’ Club. Its falcon auctions remain among the event’s most anticipated features.

The exhibition brings together falconers, breeders, collectors and enthusiasts. Through competitions, exhibitions and dedicated programs, it presents falconry as a central part of Emirati and Gulf heritage while supporting efforts to preserve the tradition for future generations.
