FAM Ends Contracts of National Team CEO, Head Coach

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has announced the termination of contracts for several key personnel within the national football setup. This includes the CEO of the National Team, Robert Douglas Friend, widely known as Rob Friend, whose contract was mutually ended effective June 1.

In tandem with Friend's departure, the contract of the Harimau Malaya head coach, Peter Cklamovski, has also been mutually terminated, effective June 16. Additionally, two technical staff members for the senior squad, Matthew Smith and Seiya Imazaki, are no longer with the team. The contracts of the Under-23 head coach, Nafuzi Zain, and goalkeeper coach, Mohd Yazid Mohd Yassin, were also terminated, effective June 15. These decisions signal significant shifts in the coaching and management structure of the national squad.

FAM stated that these terminations were reached by mutual agreement. The association expressed gratitude for the contributions, commitment, and service of all individuals involved during their tenure with the national team. FAM emphasized that these moves are integral to ensuring the smooth progression and continuity of the Harimau Malaya program, including the process of filling the vacant positions.
