Famous faces among visitors at Dzūkija forest festival 'Šaknys'

The "Šaknys" festival, held amidst the forests of Dzūkija, is drawing crowds with a rich musical program featuring both top Lithuanian stars and international electronic music acts. Solo Ansamblis, ba., Monika Liu, and Kamanių Šilelis are among the prominent Lithuanian performers on the main stage, while international DJs like Cinthie, Xguscia, and Roi Perez are set to energize the audience.

Festival organizer Domas Sabaliauskas explained the deliberate curation of the music lineup. "We often have to choose: go to a live sound event, go to a festival to listen to a few favorite bands, or go to a dance music event. But the same people want both," he said. "Therefore, we are arranging the program so that guests can choose from several stages in the same territory and the time spent at the festival is as rich as possible."

Sabaliauskas noted that the program aims to cater to contemporary tastes, blending live performances with electronic music. "During the day and in the evening, you can listen to live music from the most popular artists, and as dusk falls, embark on a musical journey with bright names from the Berlin or London club scene," he added. The beach stage will host artists like Šarukas, Liucė, and Frizz, offering a different vibe.

International acts like Berlin-based DJ and producer Cinthie, a respected figure in electronic music for over two decades, and Roi Perez, a resident DJ at Berlin's renowned "Panorama Bar," are expected to be highlights. Perez, known for his lengthy vinyl sets blending house, techno, disco, and breakbeat, brings a reputation for top-tier musical quality to the festival. The festival also aims to showcase both globally recognized artists and sought-after Lithuanian talent, some of whom perform only a few times a year.
