Father of Suspect Detained in Connection with April Homicide Investigation

E. Gaigalas, the father of Justina Sadauskienė, has been detained as part of an ongoing investigation into a crime that occurred in April near Panevėžys. Gaigalas was apprehended on July 8 in Biržai and faces serious charges, including illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, as well as the illegal possession of narcotics with intent to distribute or in very large quantities.

During searches of his home and workplace, approximately 50 rounds of ammunition of various calibers were discovered. Authorities also found psychotropic medications that may be connected to the ongoing criminal activities under investigation. The operation involved officers from the Panevėžys County Police Department and specialists from the "Aras" anti-terrorism unit of the Police Department.

This detention is part of a broader inquiry stemming from the disappearance of paramedic Mantas Sadauskas on April 20. His car was found the next day, and his body was later discovered on a property near the vehicle's location. His wife, her close friend, and now her father have been detained in connection with the case. Two suspects are currently in custody.
