Father Sentenced for Assaulting Daughter After She Revealed Suicidal Thoughts in Essay

A father in Tainan has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison for repeatedly sexually assaulting his daughter, who was under 14 years old. The disturbing case was brought to light when the young victim expressed suicidal intentions in an essay written for school.

The Tainan District Court found the father guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault. Court documents reveal that the father exploited his daughter's youth and immaturity, committing the assaults at their home on separate occasions. The girl explicitly refused and expressed discomfort but was unable to stop his actions.

The case gained attention after school counselors noted the child's distress, leading to an investigation by police and social services. Although the father confessed and reached an unconditional settlement with the victim's family during the trial, the judge determined his actions lacked any mitigating circumstances.
