FBF Appoints Hugo Blanco as New Director of Football and Methodology

The Bolivian Football Federation (FBF) has appointed Spanish national Hugo Blanco as its new director of football and methodology, seeking to revitalize the national team's structure after significant defeats in recent friendlies against Algeria and Scotland. This strategic move aims to implement a unified work model across all national selections, with a long-term vision focused on the 2030 World Cup.

Blanco's primary mission is to design and implement a methodological framework that will guide all national teams. The FBF leadership emphasized that this initiative seeks to strengthen player development processes, enhance coach training, and establish a consistent playing identity across all age groups, an aspect they felt was lacking under the previous tenure led by Óscar Villegas.

The FBF highlighted Blanco's arrival as a catalyst for institutional modernization and the foundation of a sustainable sports project. His mandate includes creating a structure that transcends changes in coaching staff and leadership, ensuring a coherent line of work for Bolivian football's development over the next decade. Key components of this new model include a comprehensive Methodological Manual for all national teams, the establishment of a National Coaches Academy with certification programs, and the development of a national scouting and player analysis platform.

Furthermore, the plan involves standardizing training methodologies for the U-13, U-15, U-17, U-20 teams, and the senior national squad. Through this restructuring, the FBF is committing to a long-term project designed to improve talent development, unify working criteria, and ultimately elevate the competitive level of Bolivian national teams on the international stage.
