Danish Superliga club FC Nordsjælland has officially announced the sale of Ghanaian international Caleb Yirenkyi to Premier League side Coventry City, marking a record transfer for the Danish league.

Although FC Nordsjælland has not disclosed the exact transfer fee, the club's football director, Alexander Riget, described it as a record sale, stating, "We are proud to be able to send him on to a Premier League club, as it was also his wish to play for. Yirenkyi, a 20-year-old midfielder, joined FC Nordsjælland in January 2024 from the club's Right to Dream academy in Ghana. He quickly became a key player for the Superliga team and has also earned caps for Ghana's national team, notably scoring the winning goal in their opening match at the recent World Cup.
