Federal Labor MP Luke Gosling arrested over alleged assault on NT Administrator

Federal Member for Solomon, Luke Gosling, has been arrested by Northern Territory Police in relation to an alleged assault on the NT Administrator, David Connolly. The incident reportedly took place on July 18 during the NT Thailand Grand Festival in Darwin.

These are ridiculous allegations that I categorically deny.

Police launched an investigation last week, leading to Gosling's arrest on Thursday morning. He remains in custody. Gosling, a former army commando, also serves as the Commonwealth's special envoy for defence and veterans’ affairs.

I've had no dealings with the Administrator since congratulating him following the announcement of his appointment late last year.

When allegations first surfaced last week, Gosling vehemently denied any wrongdoing. "These are ridiculous allegations that I categorically deny," he stated at the time. He also claimed to have had no contact with the Administrator since congratulating him on his appointment late last year.
