Ferran Torres accepts PSG proposal to leave FC Barcelona

Forward Ferran Torres has decided to join Paris Saint-Germain during the current transfer window, with FC Barcelona open to the move and awaiting an economic offer from the French club. Several media outlets reported the decision, with sources familiar with the situation confirming it to EFE news agency.

Torres, who scored the goal that secured Spain's World Cup title, is under contract with Barcelona until June 30, 2027. He has accepted the proposal from the team coached by Luis Enrique, who previously selected him for the Spanish national team. While the clubs are yet to agree on a transfer fee, all parties aim to finalize the negotiation as soon as possible, with Barcelona's pre-season training set to begin next Wednesday.

Despite having a contract, Torres recently expressed uncertainty about his future, stating in an interview in the United States, "I have a contract, but you never know in football. For me to stay, Barça must show that they want me. I am waiting to make the right decision." The 26-year-old attacker has not consistently secured a starting position since his arrival from Manchester City in the winter of the 2021-22 season.

Barcelona has recently signed wingers Anthony Gordon, Karim Adeyemi, and Jesse Bisiwu. Additionally, the team's priority target for the next season is Argentine forward Julián Álvarez, a complex operation given Atlético Madrid's refusal to negotiate.
