Ferris wheel breaks down in Deliserdang, trapping 30 visitors

Thirty people, including 14 children, were left stranded mid-air when a Ferris wheel at a night market in Deliserdang, North Sumatra, malfunctioned on Saturday night. The ride's machinery failed around 9:48 PM, leaving passengers trapped at a significant height.

Emergency services were quickly alerted, and a rescue operation commenced. The Deliserdang Fire and Rescue Service, supported by a skylift unit from the Medan City Fire Department and the PSC 119 Deliserdang team, worked through the night. The evacuation process, which began around 10:42 PM, concluded early Sunday morning at approximately 12:15 AM, ensuring all 30 individuals were brought down safely.
