Ferry Services Canceled Due to Unforeseen Circumstances and Repairs

Ferry services between the Westman Islands and Landeyjahöfn are facing significant disruptions this weekend. Six trips on Sunday and all scheduled trips on Monday have been canceled due to "unforeseen circumstances" and ongoing repairs to the Landeyjahöfn harbor.

The ferry Herjólfur, which operates this route, is currently handling some of the service while the main ferry to the islands undergoes repairs. This situation has led to a substantial alteration of the sailing schedule for Sunday.

Specifically, departures from the Westman Islands at 8:15 AM, 10:45 AM, and 8:45 PM are canceled. Correspondingly, departures from Landeyjahöfn at 9:30 AM, 12:00 PM, and 10:00 PM are also canceled. The remaining scheduled trips for Sunday will still operate.

All three planned trips for Monday are entirely canceled. These include departures from the Westman Islands at 10:45 AM, 3:45 PM, and 6:15 PM, and from Landeyjahöfn at 12:00 PM, 2:30 PM, and 5:00 PM. Passengers affected by these cancellations are urged to contact Herjólfur's customer service to make alternative arrangements for their bookings.
