Ferry services resume in Greece as winds ease

Ferry services from Greece's major ports are largely back on schedule, with improved weather allowing for the resumption of normal operations. Authorities have reported 23 departures from Piraeus, 18 from Rafina, and 12 from Lavrio. Some vessels rerouted to Lavrio after being unable to dock at Rafina due to adverse sea conditions. Despite the general improvement, winds remain strong in parts of the Aegean Sea, with forecasts predicting speeds of up to 7 to 8 Beaufort in eastern areas and the Aegean. Further weakening of the winds is expected from the afternoon, which should help maintain regular services. Passengers are urged to confirm their travel plans by contacting ferry operators or local agencies before departure.
