FIATC Girona Signs Mac McClung, Three-Time NBA Dunk Contest Winner

Spanish basketball club FIATC Girona has announced the signing of American guard Mac McClung, a player renowned for his three consecutive NBA Slam Dunk Contest victories. The 27-year-old, standing at 1.89 meters, has signed a one-year deal with the club, which is presided over by former NBA player Marc Gasol.

McClung arrives at Fontajau arena from the Chicago Bulls' organization, having most recently played for their G League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls. Last season, he averaged an impressive 29.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per game in the G League. He also set a new scoring record for the Windy City Bulls, pouring in 59 points in a single game.

His G League accolades include being the league's all-time leading scorer and a two-time MVP, earning the award in 2024 with the Osceola Magic and again in 2026. He was also named Rookie of the Year in 2022 with the South Bay Lakers. Internationally, McClung gained significant recognition for winning the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 2023, 2024, and 2025, becoming the first player in history to achieve three consecutive wins.

Throughout his career, McClung has been part of several NBA franchises, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, and Indiana Pacers, along with their G League affiliates. He is also a member of the United States national team. Fernando San Emeterio, Girona's sporting director, highlighted McClung's "scoring capacity" and playmaking ability, noting his skill in creating opportunities off the attention he draws from defenses. San Emeterio acknowledged the challenge of translating his potential to the European game, as McClung has no prior experience playing in Europe.
