FIB UI Student Alliance Responds to Student's Participation in Gibran's Work Visit

An alliance of students from the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Indonesia (IKM FIB UI) has issued a statement addressing the participation of one of its students, Daffa Ulhaq, in a recent work visit with Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. Gibran invited five students on the trip to East Nusa Tenggara, Gorontalo, and Papua, aiming to bolster oversight and refine the management of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program and Village Red and White Cooperatives (KDMP). The Vice President stated that the government is committed to improving the governance of these programs. The students accompanying Gibran included representatives from various universities, such as Sanata Dharma, Universitas Indonesia, Pelita Harapan, Jenderal Soedirman, and the Indonesian Institute of Arts and Culture. In their official statement released via Instagram on Friday, June 19, the IKM FIB UI alliance confirmed that Daffa Ulhaq is an active student at FIB UI. However, they emphasized that his participation in the state event was strictly in a personal capacity. The alliance explicitly stated that Daffa's presence, participation, and use of the UI alma mater jacket did not represent the stance of IKM FIB UI, the FIB Student Executive Board (BEM FIB UI), or any other student department/study program within the faculty. They further clarified that any actions taken by Daffa during the visit were purely his personal initiative or due to external assignments, falling outside the coordination, authority, and approval of the intra-campus student institutions of FIB UI. Gibran's work visits over the weekend included inspecting the Bulango Ulu Dam in Gorontalo and opening the National Farmers and Fishermen Week (PENAS) XVII in Gorontalo. He also visited the revitalization of Pasar Lama Mbongawani in Ende, East Nusa Tenggara.
