Prophet Muhammad's Generosity: Ashamed of Not Being Able to Give

Prophet Muhammad's profound generosity serves as a perfect example for believers. His willingness to give, even when in need, is highlighted in several accounts.

One story recounts a woman gifting him a shirt. Prophet Muhammad, who needed a shirt that day, accepted and wore it. Shortly after, a companion admired the shirt and asked for it. Without hesitation, the Prophet gave it away. Other companions later questioned the request, reminding the companion that the Prophet would never refuse a request, even if he himself was in need.

Another narrative illustrates his boundless giving nature, even in scarcity. While sitting near his home, a child approached him with a request from his mother for a gamis (robe). The Prophet asked the child to wait, and when the child returned, the Prophet entered his home and removed the gamis he was wearing, giving it to the child. These stories emphasize his selfless character and his commitment to generosity above his own needs.
