Fidel Castro's legacy will not be overcome by U.S. government's hate, says Cuban minister

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla asserted that Fidel Castro's enduring legacy will triumph over any animosity from U.S. officials and opportunistic elements.

"The greatness and imprint of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz will not be surpassed by time nor by the hatred of a few revanchists and opportunists in the U.S. government, like the Secretary of State, and in South Florida," Rodríguez stated via the social media platform X. He added that this legacy would also not be overcome by those who seek to intimidate followers of Castro's thought and work.

Rodríguez emphasized that Castro's legacy is evident in the "love and solidarity expressed to Cuba by millions worldwide." He contrasted this with the U.S. government's continued efforts to "suffocate us and cause immense damage and suffering to Cuban families." The minister expressed certainty in the support shown to the island and Castro's legacy, referencing the recent "Fidel: legacy and future" international colloquium, which marked the leader's centenary and drew approximately 1,500 national and international delegates.

"Fidel will always be a paradigm for defenders of peace, independence, humanism, social justice, solidarity, and anti-imperialism," Rodríguez concluded, underscoring the enduring influence of the former Cuban leader.
