FIFA Futsal Base and Formative Categories Tournament Kicks Off

The FIFA Futsal Base and Formative Categories tournament has officially kicked off, marking the start of a significant competition for young athletes. Hundreds of boys are participating in this year's event, which is being held in honor of Lindolfo López and the late Gustavo Ramírez. These two individuals are recognized for their substantial contributions to the development and promotion of futsal, particularly among younger generations.

The opening ceremony took place at the "Luis Óscar Giagni" sports center at Club Sol de América. During the event, commemorative plaques were presented to Lindolfo López and the family of Gustavo Ramírez, acknowledging their dedication to the sport. Officials present included José Luis Alder, president of the FIFA/APF Futsal Division, and Guillermo Rusconi, director of the Base and Formative Categories.

This season's tournament features a large field of 22 clubs competing across the Sub 9, Sub 11, Sub 13, Sub 15, and Sub 17 age categories. The clubs are divided into three groups, showcasing the widespread participation and enthusiasm for futsal across the region. The event underscores the growing importance and reach of youth futsal development.
