FIFA Investigates Argentina Over World Cup Final Conduct and Falklands Banner

FIFA is investigating the Argentine Football Association (AFA) and four members of the national team following events that occurred after the 2026 World Cup final against Spain. The investigation into the AFA addresses four potential breaches of the disciplinary code. Separately, FIFA's Disciplinary Committee has opened a file concerning post-final altercations involving players and staff from Argentina and Spain. Leandro Paredes, Nahuel Molina, Thiago Almada, and assistant coach Roberto Ayala are targeted. Reports indicate that Gavi is also being investigated from the Spanish side.
