FIFA-Standard Stadium Ready for Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Championship 2026

The TDTU stadium in Ho Chi Minh City is set to host the southern qualifiers for the 2026 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Championship, offering teams a FIFA-standard playing field.

Twenty-four teams participating in the southern regional qualifiers have arrived early at the TDTU stadium to acclimate to the playing conditions. Despite long travel distances, players expressed enthusiasm, quickly donning their boots for practice and final preparations. Following intense training sessions, team coaches and players lauded the quality of the TDTU pitch. The ideal conditions are expected to facilitate tactical plays and promise exciting matches in the southern qualifiers.

Team captain Bùi Hữu Toàn of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union team shared his positive impression: “This is my first time at the TDTU stadium, and we are very impressed with the pitch quality and the organization of the tournament. The beautiful, flat turf provides comfort for our team's plays.”

The stadium's standout feature is its 11-a-side field, certified FIFA 2-star, with a capacity of 7,500 spectators. TDTU stadium has a history of hosting major national and international events, establishing itself as a premier football venue in Ho Chi Minh City. Although put into operation in 2013, the pitch maintains stable performance thanks to a systematic investment and maintenance process. The artificial turf and lighting systems are imported synchronously, ensuring the pitch meets necessary standards for high-intensity matches.

To preserve its quality, management regularly conducts periodic care and checks. The turf is aerated, and the rubber infill is leveled to ensure elasticity, while the drainage system is frequently inspected to minimize weather impacts. The university also enforces strict usage regulations, limiting non-sporting activities to protect the turf and maintain optimal playing conditions. A high-quality pitch is crucial for players' confidence, enabling precise technical execution and reducing injury risks. Stadium management representative Nguyễn Thế Nghĩa stated, “TDTU stadium is always maintained and serviced periodically with strict procedures to preserve the best quality. Therefore, TDTU stadium has always been a destination for major domestic and international tournaments.” With its comprehensive facilities and continuous maintenance, the Tôn Đức Thắng University stadium is poised to provide ideal playing conditions for the 2026 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Championship.
