Fifteen Injured in Latvia Road Accidents on Friday

Latvia experienced a day marked by road accidents, with 15 individuals sustaining injuries across the country on Friday. The State Police reported that the Riga region bore the brunt of the incidents, recording 10 casualties. Zemgale followed with three injured persons, while the regions of Kurzeme and Latgale each reported one injury.

Among those injured, vulnerable road users were significantly represented. Five victims were cyclists, two were drivers of electric scooters, and one was a pedestrian, highlighting the diverse range of individuals affected by traffic collisions. The figures underscore the daily risks faced by various road users.

In total, 170 traffic accidents were registered nationwide on Friday. Alongside the injuries, law enforcement also addressed numerous traffic violations. A total of 543 administrative offenses were recorded, with speeding being a prominent issue, accounting for 182 violations. Additionally, two instances of aggressive driving were noted, indicating a need for continued vigilance and enforcement to ensure road safety.
