Delfi Latvia is a 100% subsidiary of AS Ekspress Grupp, a leading Baltic media group headquartered in Estonia. Ekspress Grupp, whose majority shareholder is Hans Luik, engages in web media content production, publishing newspapers and magazines, and providing printing services across Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.

Media Bias/Fact Check (MBFC) assesses Delfi as having a right-center bias, with editorial stances that slightly favor conservative positions on social issues. MBFC also rates its factual reporting as 'Mostly Factual' due to concerns about poor sourcing techniques. Delfi operates in both Latvian and Russian languages, and while some user comments have suggested a pro-Latvia/EU stance in its Latvian content and a 'pro-Russian' bias in its Russian content, a 2018 DFRLab analysis indicated that Delfi's Russian-language version did not exhibit the systematic bias seen in Russian state-owned media. The European Court of Human Rights held Delfi responsible for anonymous user comments in a 2015 ruling, highlighting past content moderation challenges.
