"Filenin Sultanları" learn their Nations League quarterfinal opponent

The Turkish women's national volleyball team, known as "Filenin Sultanları," has learned its opponent for the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) quarterfinals. After concluding the regular season in fourth place with 9 wins and 25 points, the Turkish team is set to face Canada.

Canada secured the fifth position in the regular season standings with 8 wins and 24 points. Notably, the Canadian team is coached by Giovanni Guidetti, a familiar figure to Turkish volleyball fans. Guidetti previously led the Turkish national team from 2017 to 2022, a period marked by significant success.

The quarterfinal match between Turkey and Canada is scheduled to take place in Macau, China, on July 22-23. If the "Filenin Sultanları" emerge victorious, they will advance to the semifinals to compete against the winner of the quarterfinal clash between the United States and China.

Other quarterfinal pairings in the VNL Final Stage include Italy vs. Netherlands and Brazil vs. Japan. China, despite not finishing in the top eight of the regular season, earned a spot in the quarterfinals as the host nation. Meanwhile, Bulgaria, finishing last in the regular season, has been relegated from the VNL. A team from the FIVB world rankings will replace Bulgaria in the 2027 VNL.
