Final Day for LGS High School Applications: Deadline at 5:00 PM

Today marks the final opportunity for students in Turkey to submit their high school applications based on the results of the Liselere Geçiş Sistemi (LGS) central exam. The deadline for submissions is set for 5:00 PM today.

Students are navigating a multi-tiered application process, selecting schools from three categories: those admitting based on central exam scores, those using local placement criteria, and schools with boarding facilities. A total of 198,899 students are expected to be placed in schools that require the central exam score. Of these, Anadolu high schools will accommodate 60,886 students, while science high schools will take 38,700, and social sciences high schools will enroll 9,210.

Placement in schools requiring the central exam will be determined by score ranking. In cases of equal scores, priority will be given based on School Achievement Scores (OBP), followed by final exam scores from grades 8, 7, and 6. Further tie-breaking measures include attendance records and, ultimately, the student's age, with younger applicants receiving preference.

The Ministry of National Education (MEB) has made information on this year's quotas and last year's percentile rankings accessible through the e-Okul system and the "Rota Maarif" platform. Placement results are scheduled for announcement on August 5, with multiple transfer application periods following in early and mid-August. Students unable to secure a placement during these initial phases can apply to provincial and district commissions between August 17 and 26.
