Fire alarms in Siirt as flames move toward residential areas

A large fire broke out in a grass-covered area in Gümüşkaş, in Siirt’s Baykan district, for reasons that have not yet been determined.

After the fire was discovered, firefighting teams from Baykan and the town of Veysel Karani were sent to the area. Crews began intensive efforts to contain and extinguish the flames.

The fire spread across a wide area with the help of strong winds. Teams continued working to keep it from reaching residential areas.
