Four killed and eight injured as truck crashes into vehicle carrying hazelnut workers in Düzce

Four people died when a steel-laden truck crashed into an agricultural vehicle carrying hazelnut workers on the D-655 Düzce-Zonguldak road in northwestern Turkey.

The collision occurred in the Ayazlı Akevler area of Akçakoca district. The truck, bearing license plate 16 AAY 442, struck the vehicle known locally as a “pat pat,” which was carrying the workers. The impact pushed the agricultural vehicle beneath the truck, which then rolled into the garden of a nearby house.

Medical, firefighting, police and gendarmerie teams were dispatched after the crash was reported. Officials who examined the scene determined that three women workers and the owner of the field had died there. Eight other people injured in the collision were taken to hospitals by ambulance.
