Fire at Incheon Coupang logistics center extinguished after 61 hours

Firefighters have achieved initial extinguishment of a blaze at the Coupang logistics center in Incheon, South Korea, after a prolonged battle lasting approximately 61 hours. The fire, which was first reported on the morning of July 18, was declared under initial control on the evening of July 20.

Despite the initial success, fire authorities have decided to maintain the highest level of response, including a national fire mobilization order and a Level 2 response. This decision reflects the ongoing challenges in fully containing the fire and ensuring it does not reignite. A significant deployment of resources was mobilized to combat the blaze, with 231 pieces of equipment and 812 firefighters involved since the incident began.
