Fire destroys environmental group's offices and documents in Valjevo

A fire erupted on the top floor and roof of a residential building in Valjevo, Serbia, on Thursday evening, destroying the offices of the environmental association "iRevolucija" and damaging a neighboring apartment.

The fire, which broke out around 7 p.m. in the building located at Vladike Nikolaja 54, affected the association's premises and a portion of an adjacent unit. Vladimir Radosavljević from "iRevolucija" suffered minor burns while attempting to extinguish the flames.

Radosavljević recounted hearing noises from the attic before discovering the fire in the association's office. He described running through flames to escape and subsequently calling firefighters. The blaze resulted in the loss of all the association's computers and extensive documentation related to its environmental work.

Multiple fire trucks from the Valjevo Fire Department responded to the incident. The fire has been localized, but firefighters continue to work on extinguishing remaining flames. The cause of the fire is not immediately clear.

I heard something banging in the attic and went to the premises across the way and saw that the fire had engulfed the office, I tried to put it out, but realized I needed to evacuate. I literally ran through the flames and called the firefighters.
