Firefighters Battle Blaze at Jatiwaringin Landfill in Tangerang

Firefighters are engaged in a strenuous effort to extinguish a significant fire at the Jatiwaringin landfill in Tangerang, Banten. The blaze, which ignited on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, has consumed an estimated two hectares of the waste disposal site. Thick plumes of smoke billowed into the sky as emergency personnel worked to reach and combat the spreading flames amidst towering piles of garbage.

The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Tangerang Regency has deployed nine fire engines and 45 personnel to the scene. Their primary objective is to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to adjacent areas. The operation is ongoing, with crews continuously applying water to suppress the flames.
