Fires Erupt in Jecheon Greenhouse and Jeungpyeong Feed Plant; No Injuries Reported

Early morning hours on the 18th saw emergency services responding to two distinct fire incidents in the Chungcheong region of South Korea. The first occurred in Jecheon, where a fire erupted in a vinyl greenhouse in the early hours of the morning. Despite the efforts of firefighters, the blaze spread to a nearby hillside, consuming approximately 0.1 hectares of forest and the greenhouse structure itself before being brought under control after more than an hour.

Shortly after the Jecheon incident, another fire broke out in Jeungpyeong at a feed manufacturing plant. This blaze, which started around 5:11 AM, was also quickly tackled by the fire department, but not before it caused substantial damage to the facility, destroying about 138 square meters of the building and an estimated 2.5 tons of feed.

Fortunately, in both instances, there were no reports of injuries or fatalities. The proximity of the fires in terms of timing and location has prompted investigations by the police and fire authorities to determine the exact causes and the full extent of the damages. While the immediate danger has passed, the incidents serve as a stark reminder of the vigilance required to prevent and manage such emergencies.
