Firm sponsors football competition to promote healthy living

Patricklingo Pharmaceutical Limited is sponsoring a football tournament in Anambra State, aiming to promote healthy lifestyles as a preventive measure for families and communities. The event, dubbed the ‘2026 Chaka Pain Anambra All Stars Game,’ is being held in conjunction with the Anambra State Football Association and began on Sunday.

The tournament emphasizes the importance of engaging in sporting activities as a crucial tool for disease prevention and maintaining a balanced, healthy lifestyle. During the opening ceremony at Awka City Stadium, Chief Patrick Onwuelingo, the CEO of Patricklingo Pharmaceutical Limited, announced a total prize money of N3.5 million. The tournament's winner will receive N2 million, the first runner-up N1 million, and the second runner-up N500,000.

Represented by Chief Chinenye Ezeagu, Onwuelingo stated that the pharmaceutical company's sponsorship stems from a desire to encourage healthy living. Matches will be played across selected venues throughout the state. He remarked, "When this idea was presented to us, we did not see just another football tournament. We saw an opportunity to promote healthy living, strengthen community bonds, and remind people that age should never be a barrier to living an active and fulfilling life."

The firm committed a substantial prize pool to reflect the dedication of the participating teams and to ensure the tournament embodies excellence. The state Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Patrick Agha Mba, represented by the Chairman of the Anambra State FA, Chief Chikelue Iloenyosi, commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his investment in sports development.
