First Élite Run 5K charity race set for July 18 in Parque Ñu Guazú

Paraguay is set to host the inaugural Élite Run 5K on July 18 at Parque Ñu Guazú, a charity race designed to support local athletes Leticia Añazco and Fátima Vázquez in their pursuit of regional and international competitions.

The event, organized to raise funds for Añazco and Vázquez, anticipates drawing approximately 500 runners. The collected funds will help cover essential expenses such as elite training, training camps, and travel for competitions, including the upcoming Odesur and other South American championships. The athletes expressed that support from altruistic individuals and companies is crucial for their ability to compete and represent Paraguay with dignity.

The Élite Run 5K promises a day of sport and recreation, promoting healthy lifestyles and social integration within the scenic Parque Ñu Guazú. The race will feature a 6:00 PM start time, with the 5-kilometer course unfolding within the park. All participants will receive finisher medals, and awards will be presented to top finishers in general and age-group categories. Special team competitions are also available for groups of 10 runners, offering a reduced registration fee.

Registration costs are set at G. 120,000 for general entry, with an additional G. 30,000 for a commemorative T-shirt, though shirt availability is limited and orders must be placed by July 3.
