First Lady Aigul Zhaparova shares impressions of Kyrchyn’s ethnic village

Kyrgyzstan’s First Lady Aigul Zhaparova visited the “Universe of Nomads” ethnic village in Kyrchyn and came away with felt jewelry, a bag and souvenirs made by local artisans.

She viewed the craftsmen’s work and praised those preserving traditional forms of handicraft while creating new products. “I was especially pleased by our craftsmen’s effort to preserve traditional crafts and continue developing them through new works. Such fairs increase foreign guests’ interest in their work,” she wrote on social media.

Zhaparova said Kyrchyn had retained a festive atmosphere despite the weather. The site brings together national culture, kok-boru, equestrian games, traditions and visitors from different countries.

She wished success to the athletes competing in the World Nomad Games. “May this wonderful atmosphere that began in Kyrchyn once again tell the world about the broad hospitality of the Kyrgyz people, their rich culture and the great nomadic spirit,” she added.
