Fito Páez Documentary Premieres, Alongside Four More Music Films on Netflix

Netflix has added “Fito Páez, the World Fits in a Song,” a two-hour documentary about one of Argentine rock’s most established figures. Fito Páez discusses music, love and the events that shaped his life.

The film begins with Páez’s present-day creative work and the recording of his album Novela at the historic Abbey Road Studios in London. From there, it follows the Rosario-born musician through different cities while marking anniversaries of albums such as Del 63, Circo Beat and El amor después del amor.

The documentary’s release also points viewers toward four other music productions on Netflix. “Break It All: The History of Rock in Latin America,” created by Nicolás Entel and directed by Picky Talarico, traces the genre from its origins in the 1950s through its development into an artistic expression linked to Latin America’s cultural, political and social changes. The six-part miniseries includes testimony and archival material involving major Spanish-language musicians.

“Mon Laferte, I Love You” takes a more personal route. Directed by Camila Grandi and Joanna Reposi Garibaldi, it follows the Chilean singer Norma Monserrat Bustamante Laferte during a demanding international tour and her first pregnancy. The film also looks back at her childhood and the experiences that shaped her identity and songs. It runs for one hour and 17 minutes.

The 2024 documentary “The Greatest Night in Pop,” directed by Bao Nguyen, reconstructs the 1985 recording of “We Are the World,” the charity song written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie. The film lasts one hour and 36 minutes.

The final recommendation, “ReMastered: Who Shot the Sheriff?,” is a 2018 documentary directed by Kief Davidson. It investigates one of the most disturbing episodes in Bob Marley’s life, focusing on the attempted assassination of the Jamaican musician.
