Five bodies found at Yalung-Ri base camp identified

The identities of five climbers whose bodies were found at the base camp of Yalung-Ri Mountain in Nepal's Rolwaling region have been confirmed. The group included two Nepali guides and three foreign nationals, according to the District Police Office in Dolakha.

The Nepali guides have been identified as Padam Tamang, from Gaurishankar Rural Municipality-9 in Dolakha, and Mer Karki, from Mapya Dudhkunda Rural Municipality-5 in Solukhumbu. The foreign climbers were identified as Marco Di Marcello from Canada, Markus Karchiller from Italy, and Kyakob Iseriver from Germany.

The five bodies recovered on Sunday belonged to Nepali mountain guides Padam Tamang of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality-9, Dolakha, and Mer Karki of Mapya Dudhkunda Rural Municipality-5, Solukhumbu.

Following the recovery of the bodies on Sunday, arrangements were made for post-mortem examinations. The bodies of the three foreign climbers and one Nepali guide were transported to the Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu. Padam Tamang's body will undergo a post-mortem examination in Charikot, the district headquarters.
