Five candidates register for Morena's gubernatorial survey in Quintana Roo

Quintana Roo is set to see a competitive internal election within the Morena party as five aspirants have registered for the upcoming survey to determine the candidate for the State Coordination in Defense of Transformation and Sovereignty. The registration period, which concluded on its fourth day, saw several prominent figures put their names forward.

Marybel Villegas Canché, a deputy on leave, formally registered her candidacy. She highlighted her extensive experience, stating she knows Quintana Roo "like the palm of my hand" after more than two decades of work alongside the people. Villegas Canché expressed her commitment to building a more just, secure, and prosperous Quintana Roo, emphasizing her track record of not failing the citizens who have placed their trust in her.

Rafael Marín Mollinedo, formerly the director of Mexico's National Customs Agency (ANAM), also registered. He spoke about his commitment to the "Transformation" movement and the belief that the people should always come before personal interests. Marín Mollinedo stressed the importance of a responsible, respectful, and unified internal process, defining unity not as thinking alike but as working towards a common goal.

Other registered candidates include Eugenio Segura Vázquez, a senator who recently requested leave to pursue the nomination, and Alexa Murguía Trujillo, a local deputy affiliated with the PVEM party. Ana Patricia Peralta, the current mayor of Benito Juárez, also registered, adding further depth to the slate of candidates vying for the nomination.
