Five more die from dengue in Bangladesh; 839 hospitalized

The dengue outbreak in Bangladesh continues to claim lives, with five more patients dying and 839 being hospitalized in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00 AM today. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported these figures, highlighting the ongoing severity of the situation.

Three of the reported deaths occurred within the Dhaka South City Corporation, while one death was recorded each in the Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions. These latest fatalities have pushed the total death toll from dengue to 82 and the cumulative number of cases to 28,929 since the start of the year.

Across the country, 1,951 dengue patients are currently undergoing treatment in various hospitals, indicating a persistent strain on healthcare facilities. The DGHS continues to monitor the situation closely as the number of infections and fatalities remains a significant public health concern.
