Five parliamentary committees to meet today

Parliamentary committees in Nepal are set to convene today for a series of meetings addressing critical legislative and developmental issues. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has scheduled sessions for five committees, covering a broad spectrum of national concerns.

The Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resources Committee will convene at 9:30 am to discuss a report on human-wildlife conflict. This report was prepared by a technical task force from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Environment. Meanwhile, the Infrastructure Development Committee will focus on infrastructure development and public-private partnerships, inviting representatives from key business organizations like the Investment Board Nepal and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Further discussions will take place at 11 am when the International Relations and Tourism Committee meets to deliberate on the Tourism Bill, 2025, with input from the Nepal Mountaineering Association and other relevant stakeholders. Later, the Legislation Management Committee will engage in a theoretical discussion on the Contagious Animal Diseases (Control) Bill, 2026, with the agriculture minister and secretaries from relevant ministries in attendance. The Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee will conclude the day's sessions by discussing pastureland policy with expert Dhan Prasad Lamichhane.
