Senator Flávio Bolsonaro's campaign team is strategizing to enhance his presidential bid by featuring his wife, Fernanda Bolsonaro, more prominently. The initiative aims to mitigate resistance among female voters and bolster his image, particularly after a public disagreement between Fernanda and Flávio's stepmother, former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro. Fernanda is slated to receive training to participate in more campaign events and record videos alongside her husband starting next month. The campaign plans to leverage her background as a dentist to address proposals related to health, with a specific focus on women's health issues. Since Flávio announced his presidential candidacy, Fernanda has established social media profiles on Instagram and X, where she has shared videos portraying her husband as a "moderate Bolsonaro," prepared and dedicated to his family. Following Michelle Bolsonaro's public accusations of mistreatment against Flávio, Fernanda defended her husband on social media, describing him as a "light, respectful, caring, restored man and a dedicated father." Flávio recently included Fernanda in a meeting with women in Brasília, where he challenged the notion that women vote poorly, questioning if his wife was included in such a generalization. Fernanda's name was previously mentioned in the "rachadinha" (payroll kickback) investigation involving Flávio, though the probes were ultimately closed. Bank records showed significant cash deposits into Fernanda's account from a former aide shortly before the couple purchased property.
